2018 Ellicott City Flood
On May 27, 2018, our historic parish of Old Ellicott City was hit with a second “1,000 year flood” in less than two years. As we did in 2016, St. Peter’s responded to the needs of the people of our historic parish: sheltering evacuees; collecting and distributing cleaning and safety supplies; providing space for Howard County to issue credentials for volunteers, business owners and residents; fielding requests from the media for interviews; cleaning and replenishing water stations; and feeding our community hot meals every night for two months. All of these efforts would not be possible without our members who are committed to living out their baptismal vows. Our Sunday worship and the Sacrament of Holy Communion are the spiritual feeding which leads us to serve the people God loves – and that’s everyone … NO exceptions!
